My Guardian Angel

There is safety and enveloping calm in the lap of my paternal grandmother as we peel peas in the shade. It was here on that Delhi morning that my guradian angel was placed on my right shoulder, gently and without ceremony.

My Guardian Angel stops me in my tracks, forces me into stillness, appropriates my body and beckons me to observe what is created. I have allowed myself to be guided by her since the very stirrings of my consciousness. I have grown to trust this voice, the one that chooses the correct path when there is a fork, the one that steers my moral compass, the one that shines a light on the beauty surrounding me.
